Kroschel Films Wildlife Center

Haines-Skagway Fast Ferry

If you feel like exploring more but don’t feel like driving hours, take the ferry! The Haines-Skagway Ferry is a 45 minute trip between Haines and Skagway that offers beautiful views of quaint Alaska towns and the wilderness that surrounds them. The ferry cruises up the Lynn Canal where bears, seals and, whales can be spotted.

Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve

This 48,000-acre preserve is home to the densest population of eagles in Alaska and maybe even the world. You can view eagles from parking areas on Haines Highway or on the Riverwalk, a 2-mile trail where you may spot bears, moose, swans and mountain goats. The best time to see large numbers of eagles is late fall and early winter, so get going!
