N38KC & N200SJ – Navajo
Piper Chieftain Navajo
Harris Aircraft Services operates two Piper Chieftain Navajos which cruise at over 200 mph and can seat up to 9 passengers comfortably. From check-in time to destination arrival, there is no faster way to travel throughout Southeast Alaska. Harris Air operates these aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), day or night so we have the ability to offer safe, reliable passenger service year-round in almost any weather conditions.
By participating in the Alaska Capstone Program, our Piper Chieftains have been equipped with the Chelton Synthetic Vision EFIS avionics package with built in redundancy and error detection. This cutting edge technology makes up a stand-alone GPS navigation system and replaces conventional “steam gauge” instruments. Using this advanced technology developed by Chelton Flight Systems we are able to take advantage of special Capstone low altitude airways and instrument approaches into every airport in SE Alaska.
The Chelton FlightLogic Synthetic Vision EFIS delivers unsurpassed situational awareness and simplified flight management capabilities. The Chelton EFIS combines advanced Heads Up Display (HUD) symbology with real-time forward-looking 3-D terrain rendering and Highway In The Sky (HITS). Additionally, the Chelton EFIS system will display real time traffic & weather via an onboard datalink. The result of all this modern technology is a dramatically reduced pilot workload and unprecedented safety.
